I’ve come across a recent design trend. It’s a very clean, simple, modern banner graphic. There’s a beautiful shop in Gastown using this in their logo. (Old Faithful Shop)

Today the Vancouver Whitecaps revealed their new logo. It’s much more modern, clean, contemporary and “pro.” The reflected peaks can also be interpreted as V’s for Vancouver or W’s for Whitecaps.
On February 27th I checked out a sweet art show on Granville street. You walk in, purchase a $5 pack of mystery cards created by various artists, then you open them up and start trading with people in the gallery. It’s the most socially fun art show i’ve ever been too. I’m totally looking forward to checking out their other event Hot One Inch Action.
Every year Opus Bar has their annual street party, filled with music, dancing, amazing food and all of the who’s who of Vancouver. Some of the previous themes were Africa and Jamaica, but this years choice was Bollywood. Cowie and Fox created the VIP invitations (designed in a booklet format) as well as an online RSVP.

On the weekend Vancouver had some amazing weather. Perfect sunshine, blue skies, then suddenly rain and clouds came out of no where along with a really intense thunderstorm. It’s been a very long time since i’ve seen fork lightning in this city, and for so many hours too! Too top that all off there was this intense firey sunset which ended with the HSBC Celebration of Light Fireworks.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to take any photos or video, but I did find this wonderful little timelapse showing just how crazy the day was.
