I wanted to share one of the latest additions that i’ve noticed. It’s right here near the Cowie and Fox offices in Yaletown. Just down on Nelson street there’s a “concrete park” where this giant sculptural head rests.

It’s called Eros Bendato Scrippolato and is created by Igor Mitoraj from Poland/Italy.

What do you do? You use the text indent property:

text-indent:-6000px; overflow:hidden; cursor:pointer;

Have you checked IE7? If the text is still there, try this:

color: transparent; text-transform: capitalize;

Yes, it is a hack, but it works great. And yes, you do have to have the capitalize transform or else it won’t work.

Here is everything you need to get your super awesome usable sprites working across all browsers:

Although I think the type choice could be better (Hobo definitely isn’t one of my favorites) and the copy writing tweaked, I think the overall concept is pretty great.

They are from a series that Omega (http://www.omegawatches.com), who is the official time keeper of the Olympics, puts out called Great Moments in Time. Regardless of whether you love sports or not, there are lots of cool such things on display in Vancouver over the next few weeks while we host the 2010 Winter Olympics.

I’ve discovered some brilliant vintage Valentine’s cards, some may be slightly offensive so cover your eyes if you can’t bare with it.

I’ve discovered a brilliant crafty exploration, showing Arial vs. Helvetica side-by-side. You’ll notice that in most cases Helvetica is the simpler, more elegant of the two. (see the angles of the r, t and c).

You might also noticed that there’s only 10 characters listed here, is it because all the others are identical? Some investigation needs to take place! Anyone up for the challenge?

One of my favorite lotions is Malie. When you open the bottle it’s like a mini tropical vacation inside, it’s fragrant, but not too strong (i’m one of those people that doesn’t like perfumed products). I was also impressed with how it softens the skin. Definately a must have product!
