One Hundred Days

Friday, August 27th, 2010

One Hundred Days is a bold 100 day long experience inspired by the unique collaboration of graffiti art and innovative cuisine. Using the stripped down dining room and exterior of the restaurant as his canvas, local artist Vince Dumoulin will be enhancing his work over time, making each visit unique.

The ever-changing space will serve as a backdrop to the raw, urban and industrial décor. The talented chefs at One Hundred Days will create a tantalizing menu where urban diner meets Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the art surrounding them. Located in the world renowned OPUS Hotel Vancouver, the pop up restaurant concept reinforces the brand’s reputation of being uniquely stylish and always fresh.

Orling & Wu: Now Open

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

A few months ago we talked about some branding we did for a home decor company called Örling & Wu.

At Örling and Wu you will find decorative fabrics and objects from Europe and around the world. The branding strategy was to reflect a fresh mix of contemporary, vintage and classic European styles.

You’ll be happy to know that you can now head down to Gastown at 28 Water Street and check out their newly opened store.

Vancouver Whitecaps: New logo

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Today the Vancouver Whitecaps revealed their new logo. It’s much more modern, clean, contemporary and “pro.” The reflected peaks can also be interpreted as V’s for Vancouver or W’s for Whitecaps.

What do you think?

Google unveils new look: Enters the world of subtle drop shadows

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

The old Google logo is about as the old as the internet, having gone through a few revisions it was still a little rough around their edges.

The new logo is a nice overdue improvement (in my opinion): just check out that nice subtle drop shadow, minimal bevelling and bright, web 2.0ish colors.

Also, If you try to save their logo on the search results page.. you will find that it is now part of a large sprite. Nice.

web_25_years

On this date (March 15th) way back in 1985, the world’s first dot-com domain started up. Symbolics Computer Company launched Symbolics.com, which made them the lucky number 1!!

“Nearly 200,000,000 registrations later, the Internet thrives as the world’s network for entertainment and business”
- Aron Meystedt, the site’s owner, on Monday, the 25th anniversary of the dot-com URL.

Vancouver Biennale

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

If you’re from Vancouver or if you’ve visited Vancouver, i’m sure you’ve noticed the art installations all around the city from  Vancouver Biennale.

I wanted to share one of the latest additions that i’ve noticed. It’s right here near the Cowie and Fox offices in Yaletown. Just down on Nelson street there’s a “concrete park” where this giant sculptural head rests.

It’s called Eros Bendato Scrippolato and is created by Igor Mitoraj from Poland/Italy.
