Japadog Hype

Friday, May 29th, 2009

I recently joined the hype and tried Japadog for the first time. It all started with bad service at a restaurant, my friend and I walked out after waiting forever for food, we were starving, so we wandered around for a while and eventually decided Japadog would be perfect.

The line was so long, I was really confused about what to order. In the end I went with veggie misomayo and turkey teryimayo. That was the first mistake right there, ordering 2 hotdogs was far too much.

After 45 minutes, we were finally eating.

In the end I think it was tasty at first, but far too salty and the bread was really doughy. I won’t be going back there for a long time, but I do think that if you haven’t tried it, it’s definately worth experiencing just once, but you should walk over to the Coal Harbour location, it’s on the water and there’s never any line up!

In case you didn’t make it to the Blim arts and crafts show I thought I’d share a picture of our sign with you. The show was one of the best Blim ones yet. Julia sold almost all her stuff and purchased a bunch of cool local jewelery and a hand screened shirt. I just eat a lot of the various vendor’s food. Mmmm…

Since Nicole’s last post on here would imply that I am being replaced by a parrot and a monkey, I’d best get really good at this baking gig…

This is a pretty cool photo series from photographer Mark Menjivar. The captions really make the photographs come alive.

Gambling Problem?

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

gambling

Seems like I have a real problem, I can’t stop gambling at work. Sure, I do some work, but I always seem to find my self scratching something, and it’s not my brain trying to solve a problem, but the crossword or bingo card that I hope brings me some nice $$$. Good thing the guy behind is facing the other way so he can’t see me and report me.

Sorry guys, but I’m just a troubled man… My line is open if you would like to help… haha don’t worry Rufina, we’ll beat the odds one of these days.

Good Guys Finish Last

picture-43

Why is it that we love it so much when the bad guy gets the girl and the good guy finishes last?

I don’t have cable television so I usually only see TV commercials at award shows or online when I search them out after the Super Bowl. That said, I have been watching the Vancouver Canucks on CBC and the only saving grace to watching them loose 3 straight has been this great ad for Stella Beer.  It’s the classic tale of the good guy who is trying really hard to win the girl but is edged out by the bad guy. Here is another classic example of the good guy finishing last in this old Nissan Ad.

New Fashion Trend?

Monday, May 11th, 2009

While walking along Granville Street this weekend, I discovered a possible new fashion trend.

I call it “The Bag-Hat” it literally is a bag on the mannequins head.
